At the November 14th CEOtoCEO Breakfast, Shannon Lawless of Ryan Swanson Law joined us at the Washington Athletic Club to talk about Washington’s upcoming Paid Family & Medical Leave Act (PFMLA). With PFMLA set to take effect on January 1, 2019, many employers as of November 2018 are still unaware of its details, and through no fault of their own.
In her presentation, Shannon gave an overview of the PFMLA’s benefits for employees, the reporting requirements for employers, the potential hazards of offering voluntary PFMLA plans rather than using the State’s system, and much more.
